From the heart of Nebraska to the southernmost point of the U.S., this Florida road trip was filled with family visits, hidden gems, unexpected encounters, and plenty of sunshine (and bugs!). Along the way, we explored historic sites, wandered lush boardwalks in the Everglades, fed pelicans in the Keys, and even stayed on a peaceful eco-farm in Homestead. It was a trip of spontaneous detours, unforgettable moments, and the kind of stories you only get when you hit the road with no rush—just curiosity and a full tank of gas.
Breckenridge nestled among the Rockies, was my first stop to see the towering wooden figure of Isak Heartstone, a friendly troll tucked away among the trees. Surprisingly, I stumbled upon an Oktoberfest celebration in full swing in town. A last-minute decision to take a drive through Loveland Pass I found a road winding gracefully through the mountains, showcasing breathtaking vistas at every turn.

From the misty peaks of Lookout Mountain to the snowy silence of Medicine Bow, Wyoming, and a surprise cow encounter on the way home, this trip was all about embracing the unexpected and soaking up the beauty (and hilarity) along the way.
